We invited families and friends to come out to our open facility and visit the hedgies! This is a great way to get some hands-on experience!
We are the only breeder to offer this great opportunity!
This is because we are VERY PROUD of our clean pleasant facility and our perfect healthy babies! You will get to hold them, play with them, and maybe even get pooped on! This is the perfect way to make sure a hedgehog is the right animal for you and your family! Our doors are open from 1-3 but please do call ahead to let us know to expect you!

WHO ARE WE?
Dave's Domestic Hedgehogs is owned by Dave and Lori Leeds.
We are a U.S.D.A. licensed breeder of African Pygmy Hedgehogs.
I am a semi-retired guy, working from home by appointment.
I am available to show babies any time by appointment.
I have been State Licensed for over 12 years. Over that time I have developed vast knowledge on breeding perfect affectionate and well domesticated Hedgehogs.
I offer a heated cage package that has proven over the years to be efficient and effective.

How many other breeders have you found that freely offer such easy and complete contact information? Most other braiders seem to try to hide. Not me. Nothing to hide here.
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY:
As a professional, I usually have beautiful, healthy available babies on hand. At times there will be a short wait, but never more than a few weeks.
Please understand that things happen very fast around here. If I have babies today, that does not mean I will have babies tomorrow or next week. Please feel free to call and check current availability, HOWEVER, Please wait until you are ready to act before checking!
My pricing is very competitive.
Male Babies are $ 200
Female babies are $300
Heated cages are $125 (including heater, starter kit and running wheel)
Custom Fleece cage Liners are $60 per set (3 - piece set)
I offer a 90 day replacement warranty on all of my animals. I do not sell breeding pairs.

WHAT ARE
FLEECE CAGE LINERS?
Fleece cage liners are custom-made and custom-fit fleece material used to line the bottom of the cage INSTEAD of using and replacing wood chips. The fleece has a sets of U-Haul blankets sewn inside the pieces for superior absorbance. You simply launder the liners once a week on cage day. You only need pone set of liners but may someday want two. It is a much cleaner method of maintaining the cage. Safer for the animal as well. And they come on some adorable fabrics to brighten up the cage. I buy these liners from a girl on Etsy. I have used the same girl for many years. She does high quality work. Ask to see when you visit me!

HEDGEHOG CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Hedgehogs are very easy to care for. They like indoor room temperature and are very easy feed because they can just eat dry cat food.
Here are some very basic facts about caring for a Hedgehog.
Hedgehogs grow to about the size of a small rabbit or a large Guinea pig.
Hedgehogs only live 4-5 years. Hedgehogs need no vet shots and seldom need to see a vet.
Hedgehogs can eat dry Purina One cat food. Always leave food out. And bottled drinking water as well.
Hedgehogs are nocturnal and like to party all night and sleep all day.

A NOTE ABOUT HABITATS AND CAGES:
It is very easy to get excited about a new hedgehog, and get in a hurry to get started, but quickly make a mistake when buying your first hedgehog habitat. For starters, hedgehogs do not do well in wire cages. The cage should be a tote type cage. There are many things about the cage that are important for the hedgie safety and well being.
Please allow me to assist your with your first hedgehog cage. The set-up I sell for $125 is very complete and has everything you need including a starter kit and instructions.
I HIGHLY recommend this tried and tested cage and I have seen the cages outlast the animals. If you are going to trust me enough to sell you a Happy Healthy animal, than please trust me enough to provide you with the proper habitat!
My habitats include all of the following:
Large tote and lid
Smaller tote sleeping box.
Heater
Digital Thermostat
Heat bulb
Water bottle and food cup.
Running wheel
Litter pan
Instructions and food.
All included with the cage purchase.
